What drew you to this medium?
The creative freedom and functionality drew me to ceramics. I would also argue that the ceramics community is incredibly welcoming and supportive. Through each firing and throwing session, we come together to celebrate our successes and supporting one another through failures.

What Does Your Artwork Represent?
The emotions of frustration and empowerment that come with female bodies. In terms of the uterus mug, I have always felt passionate about female reproductive rights. By making the handles of the mug into fallopian tubes, I wanted to incorporate message into something that is for everyday use––a reminder of the beauty, strength, and resilience that is the female anatomy.

What Inspires You?
The human body and the connection it brings us to others. Because we are all given similar anatomical blueprints, we share this bodily connection and relatability. To me, he human anatomy is something that we can all relate to. Therefore, I see my work as a reminder of the humility and empathy that we are all capable of. Our bodies are beautiful and capable of amazing things. and I see that as worthy of celebration.

What connection do you have to your art?
In moments of frustration and intense emotion, I often struggle to express the right words for what I am feeling and thinking. So, I rely on my art to do most of the talking. To experience my art is to take a glimpse inside my world.
