Abstract

Centre College students visited various "casas digitales", or educational centers, weekly as part of a community-based learning project while studying in the Yucatán program. Each group of students was assigned a particular educational center. The students planned and taught the academic and human enrichment programming at their assigned education centers over the course of the semester. In this presentation I focus on two important aspects of the experience: connection and undoing power dynamics.
